Newborn, umbilical attached, found in stroller on Los Angeles street
Investigators think the baby had been left inside the stroller since Monday.
‘But the most important thing … is that the baby is safe.’. “[We would] like to know why the baby was left there”. A tiny infant, umbilical cord still attached, was tucked in a stroller, on Vermont Avenue and Dana Street. He thought to assess and found the baby guy inside, carrying recently bought nightgown but addressed in perspiration.
The child appeared to be highly fortunate to have emerged from his abandonment in good condition, considering that he spent about 18 hours without food or anything to drink. They are also actively searching within the community for anyone who might have seen something that could lead to the child’s identification.
Mr Diaz first walked past the “dirty” pushchair on Monday night around 10.30pm and then again just after noon on Tuesday.
This baby was found abandoned in a stroller near a church with its umbilical cord attached.
The tiny baby, which had a shock of dark hair, was wrapped up in a blanket covered with little yellow elephants.
Police said they’re want to make sure the mother is safe and figure out why the newborn was left alone on the street. The newborn was abandoned just across the street from St. Agnes Catholic Church.
“You took your time to dress him up, but you couldn’t take your time to take him somewhere safe”, Diaz said.
The law states that parents or guardians can legally surrender infants under three-days-old to hospitals or fire stations with “no questions asked”.
