Morales, Perez each drive in 2, KC beats White Sox 7
The Chicago White Sox have now lost five of their last seven games, as the Kansas City Royals got the win Friday night. He gave up seven runs on six hits, two walks and a hit-batter, in a 7-6 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Saturday night.
The Royals have controlled the season series, 8-3.
“If I had my way, I would be in there tomorrow, so we’ll see what (manager Robin Ventura) thinks”, Eaton said. The Royals have recorded an overall money line of +1,709 and have shown high-level performance as a favorite this season with a record of 33-21.
White Sox left fielder Melky Cabrera led off the second with a double and advanced to third on right fielder Avisail Garcia’s groundout.
Chicago had one last rally in the ninth as LaRoche homered for the first time since June 24 off Royals closer Greg Holland, cutting the lead to 3-2.
“We had the big one there in the eighth and had a chance to move it along and score and probably tie it up if it goes right and didn’t get it done”, Ventura said.
Danks gave up a two-out triple in the first but stranded the runner and retired 11 straight before he allowed another runner in the fifth. Abreu doubled to center, T.Thompson scored.
One would have been sufficient in any number of spots with runners in scoring position. Rios doubled to left, Moustakas scored. Me.Cabrera flied out to left fielder Zobrist.
The only good news coming out of this loss was that Adam Eaton, who left in the fourth inning after jamming his left shoulder after going to the ground after catching Ben Zobrist’s deep fly ball in the fourth, does not appear to be seriously injured.
Both falling near the bottom of the league based on total home runs this season, Kansas City ranks 27th with 85 homers and Chicago is 22nd with 89.
None of that helped Danks, who early on appeared to have his Royals magic working yet again.
TV/Radio Coverage: Fox Sports Kansas City will broadcast all three games with Ryan Lefebvre and Rex Hudler on the call. Eric Hosmer drove home Cain with a single, giving him 10 RBIs in the past 11 games. Danks walked Kendrys Morales but survived the sixth inning without further damage, stranding two.
In fact, in his past three starts at home Volquez has 15 strikeouts and just three earned runs against.
“I made a couple of mistakes I got burned with”, Danks said. “And I just think it’s a great way to include Husker Nation in Kansas City, because there are a lot of Royals fans in Nebraska”.
“All my stuff is a little better, but I’d say the cutter is more consistent”. “I’m staying down in the zone better”.
