Leodis McKelvin is still wearing a protective boot on his ankle and driving a golf cart around at training camp – and the Bills sound like they’re bracing themselves to start the season without one of their starting cornerbacks.

The team now needs to find the player that will get the ball to those names on offense and Ryan said that he is looking for consistency from the position.

The Buffalo Bills are rumored to be getting a little closer to finding a quarterback, and it seems the one emerging as the team’s best is also the most unlikely.

“We thought everything was on track, and with a lot of these types of injuries you have some setbacks, and he experienced a setback”, Ryan said.

Tyrod Taylor: Taylor’s first drive was stalled after a snap went over his head and he was touched down for an 11-yard loss.

On Friday, Ryan told reporters that he might not reveal who the starting quarterback is until just before the team’s home opener on September 13 against the Indianapolis Colts.

“The level of play has to pick up, and we’ll see who rises to the occasion”, Ryan said.

Buffalo added quite a few pieces to their offense this past offseason, and all of them would help Taylor if he gets the job.

“So let’s see what happens”.

Taylor had a couple opportunities to hit big plays, but misfired, most notably to Andre Davis in the end zone. He’s under-throwing running backs and receivers just on those short screen passes. He just doesn’t look confident. “But every time I step on the field I feel like I have something to prove”.
