Greta Gerwig Directs Again
Fox Searchlight Pictures has today given us a new trailer for Noah Baumbach’s upcoming comedy Mistress America, which you can view in the player below (via Yahoo Movies)… Known for her collaboration-cinematic and otherwise-with Noah Baumbach, and celebrated for her distinctively tottering acting style, Gerwig co-directed and starred in 2008’s “Nights and Weekends” with Joe Swanberg, a messy long-distance relationship breakup story and one of the early mumblecore films, which she has now drifted away from.
‘Frances Ha” actress Greta Gerwig will make her solo writing and directorial debut with “Lady Bird’. Producing will be Scott Rudin, who previously worked with Gerwig on Frances Ha, along with Eli Bush and Evelyn O’Neill. A March 2016 shoot is planned, with locations in Sacramento, CA. It was about 30 pages, it was a long section, and a lot of things happened and there were new characters. “And then afterwards (I am involved with) the music and the editing”. I don’t think it’s possible. “I love when they’re talking to each other and (Tracy) says, ‘If I could just figure out my look, I’d be the most attractive woman in the world.’ That’s also a condition of being 18”, Gerwig told Variety. Before she preps Lady Bird, Gerwig will star with Annette Bening, Elle Fanning and Billy Crudup in the Mike Mills-directed 20th Century Women.
