Insight – Tesla burns cash, loses more than $4000 on every car sold
On Thursday, August 6, Tesla Motors took to Twitter to share a video of the proposed snake-like charger’s prototype, which is capable of attaching automatically to a Model S. He tweeted at the end of the year that he’s working on a charger that comes out of the garage wall and like a silvery, metallic snake will plug into your precious Tesla auto, impregnating it with its electricity.
Tesla’s got a creepy new contraption that nonetheless serves a very useful goal – a robotic snake that automatically charges the Model S, without need for any human intervention.
There was one moment during yesterday’s Tesla’s earnings call that said everything, while Elon Musk said absolutely nothing.
The “snakebot” can be seen in the video slithering until it finds its way into the auto port, cue for the metal snake to start the charging process.
If you can look past the possibility of being enslaved in your own home by a 240-volt robot snake, Tesla’s charger prototype is actually pretty cool.
Tesla also revealed on Wednesday that it would begin deliveries of its Model X SUV next month, ABC News reported.
Tesla already has a few bleeding edge electric vehicles, but its latest device is simply from the future.
