The Purge 3 May Follow The Same Main Character
Grillo starred in the second film, The Purge: Anarchy, which earned $110.6 million on a budget of just $9 million previous year.
The plot: One night (7 pm till 7 am) a year in the not-so-distant future, crime is legal and all police, fire, and medical emergency services are shut down – leaving citizens to fend for themselves. In The Purge: Anarchy, Grillo played a character credited as Sergeant – a man who has spent months entirely despondent due to the death of his young son. Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey starred in the first Purge film.
That concept was expanded for 2014’s sequel The Purge Anarchy with a small group of people trying to survive that bloody night. Yet by the end of the picture, he realizes the futility of the revenger’s tragedy and gives up his American right to slaughter this man in his sleep.
“The Purge 3” is slated to premiere on July 1, 2016. And maybe we’ll find out more about the events which led Grillo’s character to become a badass killing machine.
Franchise creator James DeMonaco is on board to write and direct the next instalment with Jason Blum, Sebastien Lemercier, Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller producing.
There was a possibility that Frank Grillo’s commitment to the upcoming series Kingdom would interfere with his ability to be in The Purge 3, but insiders say that the scheduling has been worked out so that the actor can work on both projects.
