Sandra Lee hospitalized for cancer surgery complications
Sandra Lee was rushed to a hospital Tuesday night with complications related to a recent double mastectomy.
The 49-year-old Food Network star developed a buildup of fluids and is expected to be monitored in hospital for a couple of days, the Associated Press reported.
The lifestyle guru underwent a double mastectomy in May after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Lee, 49, had kept her fans aware of her progress via Facebook and shared photos of herself at home with her partner, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The report further stated that her condition was not immediately known.
Lee revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in May on “Good Morning America”, as per Us Weekly. “She’s very upset, but she is trying to stay positive”.
“She feels affected by him in a way I don’t see her affected by anyone else”, the source said. Doctors are looking at an infection in the blood, but won’t know for sure what they are dealing with for several days, the source said.
She had six to eight weeks of radiation treatment following the surgery, E!
“Fluid buildup and feeling hot indicates infection; because she has this autoimmune disease, it could be blood clotting”.
Governor Cuomo was the one who reportedly keeps his girlfriend calm.
The politician remains “very confident” at his partner’s side, reassuring her that “everything is going to work out”.
