One Direction shock with new song release
“Drag Me Down” is the first single One Direction released since Zayn Malik left the band.
The British boy band premiered “Drag Me Down” less than 24 hours prior on Spotify.
Niall Horan also tweeted: “Finally we get to say this! have waited a long time but our new single Drag Me Down is out!!! I hope you love it as much as we do”.
Louis Tomlinson then tweeted a smiley face, before writing: “We wanted you guys to have our new single first so here it is!”
“Thank you for all your constant support”.
The song seems to have gone down well with fans with some calling it “absolutely perfect” and “AMAAAAAAZING” on Twitter.
As yet the reports are unconfirmed, but alleged he is expecting a baby with US-based stylist Briana Jungwirth.
This is their first new song without Zayn, who recently signed with RCA records to take on a solo career.
A song about gathering strength from one’s lover, “Drag Me Down” largely keeps One Direction’s soft pop style but is backed by a reggae-influenced guitar.
The band has since sold more than 65 million albums, according to its label, releasing a new work each year from 2011 to 2014 just before the year-end holiday shopping season.
