PPP Leader Qasim Zia Arrested by NAB in Fraud Case
Zia was appointed president of Pakistan Hockey Federation in 2008 and served as the federation’s chief till 2013.
The accused person have been handed over the investigation team by the accountability court on a 14-day physical remand.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has apprehended Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) big-name Qasim Zia in fraud case pertaining to about 100 million rupees. Zia and his partner Usman Saeed were arrested by NAB in the early hours of Saturday.
Qasim Zia is an Olympic gold medalist in the field Hockey.
Later, he joined politics and became secretary information of PPP Punjab chapter in 1997.
A number of affectees had filed applications against the company in NAB Punjab, stating neither it is giving any profit to them nor returning their invested money.
He pointed out that education and health sectors were symbol of neglect of the government as their capacity to provide medical facilities and education were miserable and the government was least pushed to rectify the situation. The PPP leader serves as director for Ali Usman Securities.
