Spider-Man gets into a real-life fight in New York
Other Spider-Men have also made headlines in Times Square – often not for flattering reasons.
The altercation was caught on video by Geoff Golberg, who provided an explanation as to why Spider-Man got into the scrap: “There was a guy antagonizing a number of other street performers”.
One bystander is seen kneeling close to the altercation so he can capture a selfie, all while Spider-Man frantically wrestles his opponent in the background.
Onlookers cheered him on as the boy position the adult man in a headlock.
“Spider-Man saves the day in Time Square”, Goldberg tweeted. “He’s not a hero, under no circumstances, not even a bit bit”, the person, who exclusively gave his first identify as Matthew, informed. In terms of what happened recently in Times Square, we’ve heard of no charges being pressed against this would-be Peter Parker.
The 25-year-old superhero-wannabe, Junior Bishop, clocked the cop as police tried to arrest him for soliciting tips, officials said.
This isn’t the first time that a costumed character has gone fisticuffs with someone in Times Square. One city councilman has proposed a law that would require the costumed characters to be licensed, and the Times Square Alliance has been campaigning for the measure.
