One of the most-replayed clips from the evening is an exchange between Trump and Kelly over Trump’s use of demeaning language to describe women with whom he disagrees.

Fox News moderator Kelly asked Trump about his use of such language and whether it reflected the “temperament of a man we should elect as president”. It was like they were trying to start a bar fight. It is unfortunate to have to disinvite him.

“I don’t think they like me very much“, he said of the debate audience.

But the comment crossed the line, said RedState.com editor Erick Erickson.

Meanwhile, Trump’s GOP rivals seized on his CNN comments. “No. Excuse”.

Trump and the rest of the Republican presidential nominees are scheduled to meet again next month in a debate hosted by CNN at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.
