Woman with knife is shot by DC cop

Police say the woman remained hospitalized Sunday after the shooting early Saturday evening.

The video ends as soon as the shot is fired, but the woman was struck in the shoulder and will survive, according to The Washington Post.

Police and firefighters were sent to Clay Terrace after a fire was reported, Lanier said.

WUSA9 reports the woman is in stable condition.

“There is no policy that dictates every individual officer’s perception and every individual officer’s actions”, she said.

No less than two movies appeared to point out the incident. Police discovered the woman wearing a mask or goggles and holding several knives when they arrived at the reported fire at around 6 p.m., Lanier told the Post.

Bystander video shows a woman who Washington, D.C. police said was armed with a knife, moments before she was shot in the chest by a police officer. Responding officers have been confronted by a lady holding a minimum of one knife, he stated. She appears to be about 8 to 10 feet away, advancing sporadically and unsteadily toward him.

One witness, Gerald McBrayer, said she held “a little steak knife” and received no warning. Then a single pop is heard, accompanied by screams.

A fireplace division spokesman informed the paper the reason for the hearth on Clay Terrace was beneath investigation. It was not clear what connection the woman may have had with it.
