Children and 3 Adults Found Dead in Texas Home
A man has been charged with capital murder after five children and three adults were found dead at a house in suburban Houston, Texas, on Saturday night.
David Conley, 48, was charged with capital murder in the deaths.
Deputies called to perform a welfare check Saturday evening got no response at the door to the home when they arrived, Harris County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Thomas Gilliland said. A prior warrant was already outstanding for Conley related to assault of family members, the police said.
Deputies surrounding the house saw a child’s body through the window, and decided to enter the home, according to Gilliland.
Four deputies then forced their way into the home, prompting the 49-year-old male suspect inside to begin shooting. “The deputies withdrew from the home … and awaited the arrival of the” unit.
About an hour later, the suspect surrenders, so the police stormed inside the house, to find a horrific scene.
