Dark Souls Creator: “I Do Want To Work On Something New”
“Dark Souls is my life’s work”, he said.
Dark Souls series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki talks about the newest installment in the series, Dark Souls 3, and how it will be a “turning point” in the franchise as a whole. The graphics might have taken a turn for the better, but this isn’t a Bloodborne-style shake-up.
The demo only showcased a small section of the Wall of Lodeleth (the guy next to me finished it twice after all in half an hour) and it was all yellowing skies, crumbling walls and grey enemies.
Don’t forget that while developer From Software is well known for the likes of Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne, the team has a past rooted in mechs and sci-fi. Arts will enable players to display a more varied attack without having to switch weapons, but usage of this new feature will be limited to only 20 times between bonfires. However, it should also be noted that a Lord of Cinder refers to anyone who has linked the flame, so it’s entirely possible that the story in Dark Souls III may revolve around the consequences of the character’s actions in the first game.
As for the gameplay itself, Gamespot reported that the new “Dark Souls” game is more fast-paced than earlier entries in the franchise.
“I do want to work on something new”, he added.
