No word yet from Pakistan on NSA talks
Ahead of the first-ever NSA-level talks, Pakistan on Monday asked India to end the blame game and come forward with a fresh mind for the dialogue.
Islamabad has still not confirmed the August 23-24 dates for the India-Pakistan National Security Advisor (NSA)-level talks to be held in New Delhi, sources told IANS.
While talking to the media persons today, he said that without any investigation India links every issue to Pakistan. Moreover, he said, “Dates have been suggested by India, not decided (yet)”.
Asif said that Pakistan “wanted peace with its neighbours, including India” and New Delhi should show sincerity in peace talks and end the old tactics of levelling false allegations against Pakistan. “We will send them our agenda along with the confirmation of dates so that there is no misunderstanding about what has to be discussed”. “We need to be cautious in the presence of such an enemy”, he said. Islamabad’s hardening of stand on Kashmir and including it on the agenda can be understood from Aziz’s statement on Saturday when he justified Sharif government decision’s not to invite Speaker of the J&K Assembly for Commonwealth Speakers meet in the capital city this October.
According to details, Khawaja Asif said that no Pakistani can ever seek assistance from an enemy state, even though he may have several disputes with institutions. However Pakistan has denied that charge and calls it a creation of India.
Delhi is likely to raise terror attacks in the last two weeks, in Gurdaspur and Udhampur – with a Pakistani hand seen in both – while Islamabad wants India’s alleged involvement in unrest in Balochistan, the financial hub of Karachi and the tribal areas to be part of the talks.
