Dodgers’ Kendrick leaves game with hamstring injury
After he pulled up favoring his leg while beating out an infield single in Sunday’s game, Kendrick probably won’t be available Monday against the Nationals.
Kendrick was diagnosed with a strained hamstring after exiting Sunday’s game against the Pirates in the fifth inning, MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick reports. He spent three stints on the DL in 2008 and 2011 with hamstring strains. “For me, Howie is merely a bread-and-butter coordinator. A big part of us”.
Obviously it’s too early to speculate, but if Kendrick needs to be placed on the disabled list, newly acquired Jose Peraza is on the 40-man roster and has reached base in all 10 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, hitting. 385 since being obtained in a commerce with Atlanta final month.
“We’ll talk about different options”, he said.
Kendrick was 2 for 3 Sunday, giving him five consecutive multi-hit games.
With Jimmy Rollins and Crawford every stealing towards catcher Chris Stewart on Friday, the Dodgers had extra steals within the collection (six) than in Might (5).
Whatever the move, if any, it might only be for a few days because Justin Turner is expected to return from the disabled list this week. He has been throwing and taking batting practice at the team’s minor league complex in Arizona, but hasn’t done any running, which is a problem for a player with a history of hamstring troubles.
Turner is not more likely to want a minor league rehab task, the workforce stated.
Mike Bolsinger and Chris Hatcher could soon join the Dodgers’ beleaguered bullpen. He boasts a. 281 average on the season (as of Sunday) with four home runs.
