A federal review of Brown’s slaying found that officer Wilson acted lawfully. The shots seemed to have come from a section on the street north of the police and protesters position near the Ferguson Market. One person threw a glass bottle at officers but missed. Others cursed at officers.
Demonstrations had been peaceful all day but a rowdy group of protesters later looted at least one store and faced off against police officers clad in riot gear. It also resulted in the formation of the “Black Lives Matter” movement aimed at pressurising police in to better treatment of minorities.
By then, police presence had turned heavy, and rumors about the shooting flew.
Chief Belmar defended the police shooting and said: “They weren’t protestors, they were criminals”. Police were on the scene.

After three nights of protests, some organisers have vowed to stage a day of civil disobedience on Monday. The toll has been especially great on Brown’s parents – Michael Brown Sr. says he has not shaved his beard since is son was gunned down and has no plans to trim it until substantial progress has been made.
