Ronda Rousey Crushes Bethe Correia in 34 Seconds at UFC 190
Sticking to the Rocky IV script, Rousey took herself away to a mountain retreat training camp, but as soon as the first notes of Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” hit the HSBC Arena, there was only ever going to be one victor.
Perhaps a better opponent might be Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino, whose current contract with the all-female fight promotion would allow her to appear in the UFC against Rousey. Unknown to her, or so she claims, Rousey’s father had committed suicide and this turned nearly all fan-love towards Ronda pushing Bethe’s tough life and career struggles to the background. From the word go, both fighters came out swinging with Correia landing a couple of shots on Rousey.
Ronda Rousey destroyed Bethe Correia by downing her in 34 seconds at UFC 190 on Saturday night (or Sunday morning, if we’re bringing technical).
However, Correia said she did not have any regrets after the game.
From her amateur beginnings to her early days as a professional to her meteoric rise, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has taken on 14 opponents and dispatched all of them.
Ronda and Miesha are known to be very passionate MMA fighters. “She is winning, so everybody is around her cheering her up, but when she realizes she is not everything that she believes she is, I don’t know what might happen”.
Rousey’s performance salvaged a terrible card for Dana White and the UFC. She has now won three of her last four fights with her striking, showing that the already imposing fighter is constantly improving. Rousey knocked out Correia 34 seconds into the first round to win. He said it’s a risk to try and fill such a large stadium, though the UFC pulled it off in Toronto in 2011 with a record 55,724 attendance at Rogers Centre. “She’s a superstar, man”, White said.
It also explained that this could just be an easy answer to her fame and dominance but inside her is “an awesome athlete”.
“I want to thank everyone for coming out tonight”, Silva said. “I hope him and my dad had a good time watching it together”. She is 80 percent successful at defending against takedowns, meaning she will be able to make Rousey stand up and slug it out.
In the co-main event, light-heavyweight Antonio Rogerio Nogueira blasted former champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua with a slew of wicked left-handed punches late in the first round, wobbling Rua.
