Bobby Jindal sticks to familiar themes in second tier Republican debate
The policy of Sanctuary Cities, meaning cities that do not follow federal regulations regarding the deportation of undocumented criminal offenders, have received heightened criticism in recent months following the death of 32-year-old Kate Steinle in San Francisco, who was shot by an undocumented immigrant who had been deported five times before the shooting.
“Absolutely”, said Jindal on Boston Herald Radio when asked whether he believed mayors of those cities should be arrested.
With his impressive performance, Indian-American Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal appeared to come out as joint victor of the second tier Republican presidential debate, multiple news outlets and political analysts have said.
“I would hold them as an accomplice, make them criminally culpable”.
I have my doubts about how effective Jindal’s outreach to the liberal media and its audience will be; he has already been made the victim of rude and boldly racist remarks from guests on cable news shows-and no one took a stand against it save for conservatives.
Mayor Joseph Curtatone was on Boston Herald Radio responding to an earlier interview that Jindal had given with the identical outlet.
Not only does Jindal think mayors should be criminally charged, he says they ought to be held civilly liable as well.
To the surprise of few, Gov. Bobby Jindal didn’t muster enough support in national polls to land a spot in the first televised Republican presidential debate set to air on Thursday evening (Aug. 6).
Indeed, the first question Jindal drew was about his low approval ratings at home and polls showing that he’d lose to Hillary Clinton here despite Louisiana’s conservative leanings. It is common sense that when more guns are available, more guns will be used – with tragic consequences we see over and over again. He went on to say it would be wrong to “have a situation where people are stopped on the streets just because of the way they look”.
“Our nation now has whole cities and states who stand up and willingly defy federal immigration laws in order to protect illegal immigrants who have broken our nation’s laws”, Paul said.
“I’m not concerned whether he gets there or doesn’t get there”, said state Sen.
A “Tanned. Rested. Ready” Jindal, as his campaign slogan puts it, in formal wear, including a neck-tie, does really well, beats most of the contestants, but then gets “totaled”.
