Reham Khan Demands Quick Justice For Victims Of Kasur Incident
The PTI chairman cited another report that former IG Police Punjab Abbas Khan submitted in the Lahore High Court in 1992 confessing that hiring in the police department was made by violating merit and that all were done on the instructions of the than prime minister, Nawaz Sharif.
The PTI chief said Punjab has been turned into a police state where police officials are distributing tickets for the local bodies’ polls. He said that PTI had left the assemblies for a reason and there is logic behind its decision to return, reported Dunya News.
Talking to journalists after visiting houses of the victims, she said, “Responsibility of this shameful incident lies with us all”.
Judicial inquiries have yielded no results in the country, she remarked. She criticised the Punjab government for not taking the matter seriously and not approaching the victims for their help.
Criticising the government, Reham Khan said that Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah should not cover up the issue by naming it a land dispute. “Why a judicial commission is needed when the accused have confessed to crime?” she asked. He said the KP government would disperse funds in every Tehseil, Union Council and Village that would enable the people to use the money according to their wishes.
Reham Khan appreciated and appealed the media that making this incident a headline isn’t enough and that they should continue promoting awareness. “The arrested culprits should immediately to accounted and sentenced accordingly”, she expressed. She called for exemplary punishments in the case. While answering a question, she said that JC would delay indictment and the government should treat the matter apolitically.
Reham said she salutes all 284 children who raised voice against the tragedy of the country.
She praised Nawa-i-Waqt group’s Waqt TV and The Nation for breaking such a stunning but true story.
