Jimmy Chamberlin rejoining Smashing Pumpkins for tour with Marilyn Manson
Chamberlin will join the band on tour this summer as they tour with Marilyn Manson on The End Times Tour, as well as a number of acoustic gigs in-between.

Jimmy Chamberlin, the original drummer for the Smashing Pumpkins, is rejoining the band.
Chamberlain and Corgan reunited again in 2007 as Smashing Pumpkins but without the other original members Jimmy Iha and D’Arcy Wretzky. Talking about the decision to bring Chamberlin back, Corgan tells U.S. Today, “We suddenly found ourselves in the situation of not having anybody lined up”. Chamberlin hasn’t played with the Pumpkins since quitting in 2009.
“Chamberlin added in that same interview that “[Corgan] asked if there was any way I’d consider coming back for the tour. “Jimmy is a destructive human being, and people who are destructive break things”, Corgan says. “I would not wish it on my best enemy”. I won’t do it to myself, you the fan, or my ex- partner.
The Smashing Pumpkins’ lineup has changed many times throughout the years, but for much of the band’s career, Jimmy Chamberlin and frontman Billy Corgan were the Pumpkins’ foundation. Billy Corgan formed a new but short-lived band called Zwan and Chamberlain was recruited as drummer.
Chamberlain seems to be glad to be back in the group for the summer. However, by 2009, Chamberlin was out of the band again, triggering a parade of drummers that included Mike Byrne, Tommy Lee and Robin Diaz.
