PSN offline for scheduled maintenance on August 18
The PlayStation Network will be going down on August 18, for scheduled maintenance. Specifically the period of time for maintenance from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM PT, when them estimating that it should be done in only two hours.
As always, though, the whole network won’t be down for this period – some services will simply be taken offline.
According to Sony, anybody who already has a PSN account can still sign in, play games and use most apps while the maintenance is being carried out. Do some panic buying in the comments section below.
Sony is pretty good about letting gamers know ahead of time when PSN will have any work done on it, usually by a good margin of time.
If you haven’t done so yet, Sony recommends activating your PlayStation 4 console as primary, which will ensure you have the “best experience” during all maintenances.
However, during the maintenance you won’t be able to access Account Management, PlayStation Video, or complete a purchase in the PlayStation Store.
