Alabama family reunites with dog missing for nine years
Just think of it as a very long game of fetch.
Goldston’s only concern now is how much time he and his family will have left with the elder pooch – but Boozer still seems quite sprightly.
The unlucky timing meant the family couldn’t look for the animal, who was only a puppy when he vanished from their backyard.
“After all this time to see him again”, Goldstone tells Fox 31 Denver after making an 18-hour road trip with his two kids to retrieve Boozer. He ended up in the Foothills Animal Shelter on August 2, 2015, according to the report.
Jennifer Strickland, a spokeswoman for the shelter, said this particular scenario is not uncommon, but the shelter does like to double-check to make sure past owners are not now looking for pets they may have lost.
When Boozer was found by the Boxer rescue organization as a pup, wasn’t he scanned for a microchip? The family and the dog may have been separated for nearly a decade, but a simple process managed to reunite them. “Especially when they sent the first picture of him”. “We have let them know he is back with his original family and they are beyond grateful and relieved to know he will continue to be loved by another family”.
Apparently, the people that found Boozer when he ran off nine years ago decided to keep him and then he was sold to a new a family.
Even after 9 years, he definitely remembered them!
Boozer, the boxer, was just eight months old when he disappeared in 2006.
A Colorado family reunited with dog they lost nine years ago.
But, Arango said, she couldn’t be happier.
During the emotional reunion, he told the shelter’s staff that Boozer “was never gone from our hearts”.
