School bus crash leaves 12 children with minor injuries
NBC 7’s Elena Gomez updates the investigation along northbound I-15 at West Bernardo Drive as of 6 a.m. Monday.
All lanes are reopened, but drivers should expect delays.
At least one person suffered serious injuries Tuesday morning in a multicar crash that brought traffic on Interstate 880 to a stop, the California Highway Patrol said.
Emily Schnitzer, camp administrator, said the bus was heading for a field trip in Emeryville.
Paramedics from the Berkeley Fire Department were on hand to treat the children, none of whom were seriously injured. (The children on the bus are part of the Giborim group, she said.). The CHP said at least four other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened around 10 a.m.at the Ashby Avenue exit.
A para-glider was rescued near Napa County’s Lake Hennessey by the California Highway Patrol helicopter on Saturday afternoon, agency officials said.
“In a scene like this, there was very light traffic, so just the impact that the body received, spread the evidence through a lot of lanes”, said CHP Sgt. Witnesses told police that a Toyota Camry was involved in the collision, but no other details about the wreck were available.
