Dustin Diamond Sentenced to Four Months in Jail for Barroom Stabbing
A Wisconsin judge sentenced Dustin Diamond to 120 days in jail and 15 months’ probation for his involvement in a bar stabbing previous year. Jurors cleared Diamond of the most serious charge, a felony count of recklessly endangering safety, but convicted him of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.
Diamond claimed the stabbing was an accident and that he was merely defending his fiancée, Amanda Schutz, during an altercation with a woman and two men.
At the time of the guilty verdicts on May 30, Diamond’s lawyer said, “We’re happy with the results, we think that justice has been done”. The Saved by the Bell alum, 38, appeared in court in Port Washington, Wis. where he received the sentence from Judge Paul Malloy, the Associated Press reported.
“This is all I’ve thought about for the last six months”, he said.
Witnesses instead testified that Diamond and Schutz were the ones who initiated the fight.
