McLaren Special Operations to show two 570S models at Pebble Beach
This year it seems like McLaren is focusing on personalization with it’s fleet of Super Series cars.
Then there’s a “catalogue special” 570S, finished in metallic orange, with a selection of styling details from the MSO Defined range of options.
Elsewhere at Pebble Beach, the British marque will be bringing along a 675LT and 650S Le Mans from the Super Series range. Both of the limited run models, which are now entirely sold out, are inspired by the McLaren F1’s appearance at Le Mans and in endurance racing events.
The F1 supercar will also draw attention in RM Sotheby’s Pebble Beach auction, with a 1998 “LM-Spec” set to topple $12,000,000 when it goes under the hammer in Monterey. Alongside the 675LT will be an even more exclusive 650S LeMans which features a few functional pieces like a roof-mounted “snorkel” air intake, front wing louvres and special edition light weight wheels.
Earlier reports from McLaren listed the 570S as being capable of a 0-60 miles per hour time of just 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 200 miles per hour.
With production ending later this month, chances are this is one of the last P1s part of a 375-unit total and just like many other cars, this one too has been pampered by MSO. Completing the line-up during the weekend will be a 1996 F1 GTR on loan from BMW North America. In fact, the origins of MSO date back over 20 years, as the division grew out of the McLaren Customer Care Programme.
As for the McLaren 570S pictured, it has been finished in a shade dubbed Mauvine Blue.
We all know that the McLaren 650S is no match for a P1 but a video in which the two are going head to head simply can not be ignored.
McLaren Special Operations is able to offer the complete tailoring of any McLaren model.
