Arnold Schwarzenegger: ‘Cheating on Maria Shriver was my biggest failure’
The two filed for divorce July of 2011, after Arnold publicly admitted to cheating on Shriver with the family’s housekeeper and fathering a child with her.
“When your marriage goes south, was that a really huge defeat in your life?”
“That was, without any doubt, the biggest setback and the biggest failure”, he said. Stern began.
When Stern asked whether the breakup was Schwarzenegger’s first real personal setback, the actor said it was entirely his fault. Maria talked me into it. “The thing was how do you make the best of that situation?” It was absolutely counterproductive to our future relationship. “It was just nonsense talk”.
“Maria talked me into it, and I knew instinctively maybe I shouldn’t go because I screwed up”, he added.
“Under normal circumstances maybe I would be nervous, but I’ll tell you the two reasons why not”, Schwarzenegger said. The ex- governor of California added that he apologized to Maria and the children before trying to move forward. “I made it very clear to my kids: I don’t care if they’re a plumber, if they’re a writer or if they’re a teacher”.
So how does Arnold Schwarzenegger really feel about Miley Cyrus now that it’s over between her and Patrick Schwarzenegger?
Schwarzenegger made sure to note that he believed that people should seek help if they needed it, even though he personally didn’t find it helpful. “We had tiny kids in the house also, my nephew’s tiny kids”.
Schwarzenegger has four children with Maria: Katherine, 25, Christina, 23, Patrick, 21, and Christopher, 17.
We’re not going to lie, it gets a bit raunchy, particularly when they start discussing “where Willie Nelson’s wife spent her honeymoon” and “what happens if you overdose on Viagra”. Each one sent a card.
Arnold said there were “little kids” on the family’s Idaho trip, and Miley “went out every day to buy gifts for them. Patrick had a wonderful experience, a great relationship, and then the whole thing eventually fell apart”. If you are doing a web-series, especially to help promote your film, shouldn’t you want to reach as many potential viewers as possible?
“I never had to say that”, Arnold said.
That I was able to bridge over to acting even though the majority of people in Hollywood said it would never happen because of my accent because of my body being overly developed, and because of my name – that wouldn’t be able to pronounce.
