Beaten Pomeranian found with note: ‘We beat it 2 death lol’
Pembroke Pines police said a Pomeranian that was found beaten to death with a note on the dog’s body is the worst case of animal abuse the city has ever seen.
Fox went missing from his apartment near the corner of Pines Boulevard and University Drive, Friday afternoon. “We beat it 2 death lol hahaha”, read the note with an angry looking smiley face drawn between the laughter.
Police said they believe Fox’s killing was an “isolated incident”, adding there is “no reason to believe that other dogs are at risk at this time”. Less than 24 hours later, a neighbor found the dog outside the owner’s condominium.
Police are investigating the dog’s killing.
“He had ten broken ribs along one side of the body and his stomach was up in his lungs”, said Dr. Ron Ridge. Fox suffered broken ribs and his injuries appeared consistent with someone repeatedly kicking him. Pembroke Pines officials said Fox may have been struck by a vehicle, but the vet said that it’s not likely.
Fox was covered in reddish sand, similar to baseball field clay, and Boisvert said there is a field near his condo.
“I’m hoping that after the first hit, he was already gone and didn’t feel what came next”, she told the newspaper.
Boisvert said he doesn’t know why anyone would want to hurt Fox, but he thinks the culprits are local because Fox was not wearing a collar yet was returned to his home. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
