Not a happy hour: Beer truck overturns, dumps cans on highway
A big rig carrying a load of beer wrecked Tuesday morning in Hernando County, Florida, spilling cans of Budweiser onto Interstate-75.
Malcolm Jamal Wilcox was driving on Interstate 75 when his small dog distracted him in his truck, WFLA reported.
Silver and blue cans flooded the interstate after a Bud Light beer truck overturned Tuesday morning.
The tractor-trailer veered into the outside shoulder as he tended to his pooch. When Wilcox overcorrected his semi traveled across the roadway and collided with the center median guardrail, then overturned.
As a result, most of his load of beer cans spilled onto the roadway, closing the inside lane for more than three hours.
According to tweets from Trooper Steve Gaskins with FHP public affairs, the crash closed one lane of I-75 south near State Road 50.
The driver was ticketed for careless driving, according to Gaskins.
