Juventus rocked by Khedira injury scare

Juventus lost considerable quality with Arturo Vidal’s departure to Bayern Munich earlier this summer and with Khedira now sidelined for two months, Allegri may seek a player capable of following the box-to-box role in Juve’s midfield.

The former Real Madrid man being stretchered off just 25 minutes into a friendly against French side Olympique de Marseille had Juventini fearing the worst.

Tests have revealed the extent of the 28-year-old’s injury, with the club announcing their new recruit is set to miss a large portion of the start of their new campaign.

However, the Champions League runners-up have now confirmed the injury will see Khedira miss a lot more than just the clash between Juventus and Lazio this coming Saturday, ruling him out of the first seven Serie A matches of 2015-16.

Investigations into his thigh injury have shown a serious problem, as Juve confirmed on the club website.

Khedira’s Real Madrid career was often blighted by injuries, contributing to his paltry tally of 13 appearances made in the 2014-15 season before he was released by the Spanish outfit.

Juventus are lining up a move for Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano following an injury to new signing Sami Khedira, as reported by Football Italia.

The Bianconeri have been linked with the 26-year-old throughout the summer, but perhaps Khedira’s injury will now force a concrete offer from Juventus for the Belgian.
