Allegiant adds Orlando flights, plane, jobs at Pittsburgh

Discount airline Allegiant Air pushed passenger traffic at Punta Gorda Airport up by 58% in July compared with the same month one year ago. “We look forward to making more vacations possible for even more people and to providing the community with a new, affordable way to travel”.

“We are very pleased that Allegiant is expanding at Will Rogers World Airport”, said airport director Mark Kranenburg. Not only will the base provide jobs but it could set up Pittsburgh for more growth in the future, Mr. Ralenkotter said.

The flights will travel from twice weekly, nonstop between Eppley Airfield and Orlando Sanford Airport.

Allegiant is a low-cost carrier, which does add on additional fees to check bags and pay for other services.

“That’s been a little bit of a barrier for us”, she said.

Flights will run seasonally, ending in the spring.

Allegiant announced that it will begin offering nonstop flights to Las Vegas from Oklahoma City.

St. Pete-Clearwater global Airport successfully passed its annual Federal Aviation Administration Safety and Certification Inspection with no discrepancies, marking its 11th consecutive year without a single deficiency, according to an August 6 media release. The Central Nebraska Regional Airport also offers daily jet service to Dallas on American Eagle.
