ZombiU Confirmed for PS4/Xbox One, Drops the ‘U’
Remember last month we reported that there was a possibility of Ubisoft dropping the Wii U exclusivity of their game ZombiU?
Ubisoft has released the first gameplay trailer for Zombi, coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on August 18, 2015.
Upon its original release, much was made of how Zombi U utilised the Gamepad to create a sense of tension and claustrophobia, with you needing to split your attention between the two screens to avoid facing an untimely death. There’s also Killing Floor 2, whose wave-based zombie combat is some of the grossest and most thrilling we’ve played in a while.
Check out the Zombi reveal trailer, and look for Zombie to launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 18.
Outside of Nintendo developed games like Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart, the Wii U doesn’t have many exclusives.
Things like the sound mix has returned from the original.
We kept the central idea that you’re always vulnerable.
Ubisoft announced today that the PS4, Xbox One, and PC will soon fall victim to a zombie apocalypse. Ubisoft stated that the mini-map will be moved to the screen, but it also tried to minimize the clutter on the game’s HUD. We’ve added a dedicated button to access the backpack, which lets players see their full inventory and assign shortcut keys. However, unlike in other similarly themed games, players will not be able to continue their character’s story once they die or get turned into a zombie after getting bitten. The excellent-sounding multiplayer mode of trying to kill off a survivor by placing the undead in their path sadly won’t be returning. And since it no longer requires the GamePad, it will just be called Zombi… not to be confused with the Italian Dawn of the Dead movie series. While fun, I don’t think this mode will be missed by many.(*Editor’s Note: Trust me, NO ONE will miss it.) Hopefully this makes for a stronger single player experience.
