EPL: Schweinsteiger will have a big say in United’s fortunes: Carrick
Schweinsteiger left his boyhood membership Bayern Munich for United this summer time, having gained a number of main trophies with the membership together with eight Bundesliga titles.
The former Bayern Munich star made an impressive debut off the bench in the Red Devils’ season-opening 1-0 victory over Tottenham on Sunday (AEST).
The tweet from MEN reporter James Robson highlights that the journalist has heard of the German World Cup winner’s leadership tendancies in not being afraid of expressing his views and opinions loud and clear.
Given that he, along with Wayne Rooney, is the longest-serving player at Old Trafford, Carrick feels he has a duty to teach new arrivals Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian, Sergio Romero and Memphis Depay about the history of the club.
“I was blessed with the players who were in the squad when I came, how they, whether they knew it or not, guided me in certain directions at certain times”.
“It’s a good move”.
But the United assistant manager gives the bottle thief a look that suggests he’s also bored by the game, and can fully relate to his frustration. It’s incredibly important for him that he stays healthy.
However, convincing Louis van Gaal about a trip to Munich may be a little trickier.
“Bayern’s style of play was suited to him, but he’s going to have to adapt to an extremely high tempo at Manchester United“, said Kahn.
“He can turn out to be the central participant at Manchester United, who can management the opponent after which breakthrough within the deciding second”.
“He could run into problems relatively quickly if he does not get back to a top physical condition”.
