Mos Def Challenges Fellow Rappers to a Rap Battle, Lupe Fiasco Accepts
Yasiin Bey, the artist formerly know as Mos Def, is apparently not impressed by the recent rash of diss tracks.
Mos elaborates, “Red Bull Music Academy create a crush about that and we’ll share our booty in to charitable organization and take good your funds, too”. Exhausted of these dudes pretending like they dope. [We will] battle anybody; I don’t care who you tell.
He added, “We don’t have to make no back-and-forth corny records about it. We could put it on its feet for the world to see”. Dope niggas that think they dope-you ain’t as dope as you think.
Lupe responded on Instagram, writing, “If Mos wanna battle, he can get a whiff of the wrath, and I’m behind all these bars don’t to tap Miller for some genuine drafts”, wrote Fiasco on Instagram, making a reference to alleged Drake ghostwriter Quentin Miller.
Late last week, a short video recording of a charged up Yasiin Bey (pun intended) threatening to take all rapper’s lunch money went viral and now the 41-year-old multi-talent is alleging it was all said in jest. “I was talking to El-P from Run the Jewels the other day and he said it turned into a bird”. “I stand behind the statement, but at the same time, I’m not trying to arrange some sort of exhibition of that reality”. He would later clarify what he meant and denounce the audio as he believed what he was saying was private.
There will be no rap battle between Yasiin Bey and Lupe Fiasco, according to Bey himself. “We are the only culture that this atmosphere has been constructed around”.
