2 caught trying to bring loaded guns on planes in Md

Authorities say the men were stopped at Hagerstown Regional and Baltimore Washington International-Thurgood Marshal airports on Thursday. They said the gun was discovered after the baggage passed through the x-ray machine.
A small hatchet was also intercepted from a 16-year-old’s carry-on bag Wednesday at Orlando global Airport, Koshetz said.
Hatchets, knives, grenades and guns are not permitted in carry-on bags, TSA officials said.

Still, airport security officers issued a reminder of items that are not allowed to be carried onto a flight.

Firearms must be unloaded, packed in a hard-sided case, locked and packed separately from ammunition.
