Biglia Man United: Three European heavyweights including Real Madrid enter
Manchester United are believed to be close to completing a deal for Lazio star Lucas Biglia, according to reports from the Express.
The two clubs have yet to settle on a fee for the defensive midfielder, but Biglia’s departure from Serie A looks increasingly likely. But asked last week whether the captaincy would keep him at the club Biglia was unable to make that commitment.
The fact that I accepted the captain’s armband does not mean I will stay. “I do not know what will happen next, in football anything can happen, we will see not only depend on me”, Biglia said.
Biglia has been one of the best midfield players in Europe over the past few years and it had been claimed that United were pursuing the services of the 29-year old, with some reports even stating that the Red Devils had placed a bid in the region of around £20million. The Spain worldwide is expected to make his final appearance for Barca in tonight’s Uefa Super Cup clash with Sevilla in Tbilisi.
There could possibly be an extra concern to beat for United, with Barcelona-based outlet that Manchester Metropolis have made a late transfer to attempt to convey Pedro to the blue half of Manchester.
Spanish newspaper Marca claims Pedro will be unveiled on Wednesday in a £24.7m deal. But having signed Raheem Sterling for £49million this summer a move for Pedro sounds far-fetched.
Real Madrid are prepared to give way and award a contract to Sergio Ramos worth €10million a year.
Manchester United began to banish the memories of their woeful start to last season with a victory over Tottenham on Saturday to kick off the new Premier League campaign.
Ramos now earns €6million a year after tax.
