Dzeko joins Roma on loan
Dzeko passed his medical last Thursday and has completed the loan to the Serie A giants with a view to a permanent deal, if certain conditions are met.
Sergio Aguero would score seconds later to win the match and secure City their first Barclays Premier League title.
Roma are required to pay a further €11m to make the move permanent.
Roma are obliged to purchase the striker for £14 million next summer as part of the terms of the loan deal, bringing an end to his four-and-a-half year stay at Manchester City.
“I can only promise one thing and that is that I will give my best for this club in every game”.
But Dzeko, a player who needs a regular supply line of service, is a little one-dimensional in his style of forward play, and for a team with ambitions as lofty as City’s, he’s not of the standard required.
Dzeko, 29, has spent the past four seasons at the Etihad after arriving from Wolfsburg.
Dzeko has found the net 42 times in 72 appearances for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He leaves Manchester a two-time Premier League victor, having also lifted the FA Cup and League Cup.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini paid tribute to Dzeko last Friday, saying in a news conference: “Edin made a big contribution to this club”.
The Manchester club continue to be linked with a move for former Chelsea playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.
