AT&T Ups Bounty For DirecTV Users Who Add AT&T Cellular
Customers can also receive a $200 trade-in credit or gift card for eligible devices.
Yesterday, AT&T announced a new promotion for DIRECTV customers entailing a substantial $500 credit per line offering, for switching to the former’s wireless service.
These credits are also available in the same manner to subscribers of the AT&T U-verse platform that was already being operated by the company before its acquisition of DirecTV.
The promotion involves DirecTV customers getting $300 applied to their account for every phone line switched to AT&T Inc. Insane. Oh, and you’ll also get 10,000 Plenti points (rewards points) for use at participating merchants, and you’ll get $10 off each bill if you combine your wireless and TV charges into the same bill.
So as not to fracture its user base, AT&T will be extending the same offer to U-verse subscribers as well.
“We’ve diversified our capabilities, added significant scale in video and mobility, and can now deliver integrated services that set us apart from the competition”, said AT&T CEO and chairman Randall Stephenson in a statement. (NYSE:T) is stopping at nothing on its push to bring in new customers for its wireless business. Second, today marks the official launch date of the recently unveiled All in One Plan, which allows new DirecTV customers to take a package which combines wireless and TV services at a discounted price – the first time such a deal has been available on a nationwide basis. The plan is priced at $200 per month for 12 months and includes HD and DVR functionality for four TV receivers, unlimited talk and text for four smartphone lines and 10GB of shareable data.
Both credits will be received within 90 days of activating service, and from what AT&T’s press release says it can stack as many times as you have lines.
The offer comes with several nuances to what AT&T was ultimately offering.
