Halo Wars 2 announced for Xbox One & Windows 10
Seagate, a world leader in storage solutions, has unveiled a new custom 2TB game drive for Xbox, in a strategic relationship with Microsoft.
Mike Ybarra, director of program management at Microsoft, said that one hundred titles will be available to users at the launch of the backward compatibility feature, with “hundreds more” to come afterward.
Seagate’s 2 TB “Game Drive” built specifically for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. While these both support DVR-like pausing of live TV for up to 30 minutes, they do not now offer full DVR functionality. Customers will have the ability to use the console to schedule recordings, to their units and obtain exhibits for offline viewing, CNET. In there, you can copy or move the data to the cloud.
The Windows 10 update on Xbox One is bringing Cortana to the Xbox One. In conjunction with the recently released Xbox One TV tuner, users will be able to record live TV from the broadcast networks and stream the content to mobile devices. If you have 300GB of space left on your internal drive and you record 100GB of in-game clips on it for example, how is that different to recording 100GB of video via DVR? That’s why hard drive manufacturer Seagate is stepping in to address a growing area of concern by partnering up with Microsoft for a new solution.
While the DVR feature sounds like an awesome new addition to the Xbox One’s bag of tricks, it will take an initial investment to achieve.
