Panthers quarterback Newton involved in practice scuffle

The guy with half a dozen 15 yard penalties on his stat sheet or the guy that has none?

The conflict continued throughout practice with Newton later yelling “I bet you won’t do that again”.

Until that first preseason games commences, players on their own team treat each other as if they were the enemy. I wasn’t pleased about who was in the fight.

The Washington Redskins and Houston Texans went all in this week, engaging in a bench-clearing brawl after which coaches abandoned joint practice plans.

“The thing I try to take away from it, as you look for the positive in it, is hey, he stood up for himself and the other guy stood up for himself, ” Rivera said. Both players were requested for interview sessions later in the day. According to The Charlotte Observer, Norman intercepted Newton and sprinted toward the end zone.

Monday, coach Ron Rivera and defensive coordinator Sean McDermott had expressed their displeasure with a lack of energy and effort from the defense during drills. You don’t expect it to be your quarterback. Let’s just not burn down the barn with it. This is one of your teammates.

Still unsure of the status of Tom Brady and with the exhibition opener coming up, the Patriots released veteran quarterback Matt Flynn and signed Ryan Lindley to replace him as the team’s third-stringer.
