Aaron Rodgers Says NFL Can Stuff Their New Extra Point

When Green Bay opens the preseason schedule Thursday night at the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, Packers coach Mike McCarthy is planning to go with what he has.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers play a Patriots team they met in week 13 of last year’s regular season.

Rodgers will be on the travel list for the preseason opener, which would suggest he is to get at least a bit of playing time with some of the team’s other offensive starters.

“It’s now become a very important play, especially in the wintertime in Green Bay, when no field goal is guaranteed”, Rodgers said via ESPN. “And I think were going to go with the starters for a little while.”.

Matthews added the decision on whether he plays Thursday or has to wait until the second preseason game August. 23 at Pittsburgh is not his to make.
