Apple Music coming to Sonos speakers by year-end

The timing is slightly earlier than usual, with Apple tending to make updates available at 10am Pacific Time.

Rogers posted a blog, which has since been modified, disclosing that Apple’s Beats 1 radio station will go live an hour after iOS 8.4 is released to iPhones.

Apple is also working to get the music service integrated with Sonos music streaming speaker systems “ASAP, but not at launch”, according to another tweet by Rogers. The new music streaming service will incorporate all features present in iTunes Match.

With the feud now over, Swift thanked Apple and clarified that she wasn’t getting any special treatment. However, the new album, titled 1989, was never added to any music streaming service.

An open letter was written by Taylor Swift on June 21to Apple announcing that she won’t be putting her new album “1989” on the company’s newest streaming service.

Google has made a move into territory occupied by streaming giants like Spotify and Apple. The United Kingdom price is yet to be confirmed but will likely be the same in pounds.

It seems certain that Apple Music will kick off with enormous success given its free trial, so we’ll still have to wait a few months before we learn how many people actually decide to stick with it afterwards. Apple global music channel, Beats 1, will launch an hour later. Apple will be releasing a compatibility update for iTunes ahead of the Apple Music launch. Barron’s estimates that Apple is going to be burning around $100 million for the free three-month trial period that the company is offering. Unlike Pandora, the most popular online music radio service, Apple is employing humans to curate the experience. The station will be hosted by Zane Lowe, an ex- BBC DJ and there will be a wide array of music and interviews selected by well know personalities like Dr. Dre, Elton John, Drake and Pharrell.

The iOS update should be available starting at 4AM AEST – you’ll need to download it in order to get access to Apple Music. The app will also work on Apple Watch, as well as on Mac desktops and PCs.
