Serena’s US Open quest begins with questions
For a brief moment in time, she took a top 30 player and put her into a tailspin.
As for Venus, Williams has had her own challenges after being diagnosed with Sjogren’s syndrome, which is an autoimmune disease, reported CNN.
“Still working on that toe point”, she said in the caption.
“I will finally be able to make some Miami Dolphin games, and make some, uh, better decisions down there with the players”. I just really thought that was unusual. “I’ll just do athletic wear”, she said.
Instead, she’s having her best season since 2002 when she won the French, Wimbledon and U.S. Open titles before rounding out her first Serena Slam in Australia the next year. Resignation that Serena Williams is unstoppable.
With the U.S Open Series stopping in Toronto this week, the calendar Slam was a hot topic at the all-access hour with the WTA’s top players.
After failing to carry serve within the first set, Williams shook out the cobwebs, dialed in her recreation, and ran away with the match in an hour and 36 minutes, 2-6, 6-Three, 6-Zero.
“I think she can be beat but it’s really tough”, said Romania’s Halep. Williams told New York Magazine’s Kerry Howley that her design aspirations have always centered on making wedding dresses.
I think that we could well see a repeat of Stanford in the quarters, with Radwanska facing Kerber.
“I will try to be ready for the matches”.
Halep is taking mental notes. With either Jelena Jankovic or Caroline Garcia in her opener and potentially current Stanford semi finalist, (13) Angelique Kerber further down the line, the odds of Halep going deep seem limited. I have a victory against her in Singapore (in October 2014). Every year that goes by I love the game more.
It’s safe to say that anything she tackles after tennis will also end in a Grand Slam.
