Zach Galifianakis Signs On As The Joker In The ‘Lego Batman’ Movie
Galifianakis will join Will Arnett, who voiced the Caped Crusader in The LEGO Movie, and Michael Cera, who was cast as Robin last month. Of course, as a reminder, we’re only being treated to their voices, but if the original Lego Movie was any indication, we can expect them to bring some personal flair to their characters.
“Lego Batman” will open on February 10, 2017 – three years after the original.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, amusing man Zach Galifianakis is in talks to be the voice of the Clown Prince of Crime in “Lego Batman“. Author-screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Beetlejuice 2) penned the script for the spinoff, which is being produced by Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Dan Lin and Roy Lee. THR reports that he just completed filming on Keeping Up with the Joneses with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot.
Most noted for his work as a stand-up comedian and his role in “The Hangover” trilogy, Galifianakis has lent his voice to a number of animated series including “The Simpsons“, “Bob’s Burgers“, “American Dad“, “Puss in Boots”, and “Tom Goes to the Mayor”.
