Anderson Cooper Does Trump Impression on Late Night
Donald Trump’s enemies list grows larger by the hour, but Late Night host Seth Meyers is an old pro at pissing off the GOP hopeful – a fact he cheerfully discussed with CNN’s Anderson Cooper during Tuesday’s Late Night. “I picture him standing on top of the Trump Tower, looking over the city that he has built”, says Late Night writer Connor O’Malley. “It’s rare that you talk to a politician who doesn’t come with a huge entourage, which ironically Trump does not”. He just kind of shows up, sits down, nobody is telling me to wrap it up in ten minutes… “And then he attacks you in the process, which is always entertaining”.
Kelly too has said that she won’t apologize, and in anticipation of Trump’s next move, Seth Meyers, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon did their best to mock his highly publicized faux pas.
The two also balked at Trump’s apparent sleeping schedule, based on his late-night Twitter rants. “It’s not really breaking new ground for me personally”, he said while acknowledging the format’s ancient stand-up tradition, “so that made the transition easier”.
As Seth Meyers so perfectly put it, to comedians from all over the world, but especially to those in the US, Presidential hopeful Donald Trump, aka The Donald, is the gift that keeps giving.
