Dr. Dre Says ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Gave Him ‘Goosebumps’

A meme generator designed to promote the upcoming Straight Outta Compton movie went viral on Twitter this week, spawning the hashtag #StraightOutta as Twitter users joked around with their own N.W.A.-themed art overlaid with a customizable “Straight outta _” label.

“We (were) sick of these people telling us what to do, ” Ice Cube said.

The remarks have been edited for clarity and brevity. Moments of the film that feel like checking off boxes-a confrontational press conference; a series of diss tracks swapped among the fracturing members of the group-are enlivened by the cast; even when the story seems to slow down, more time spent with them is worth it.
