Jada Pinkett Smith’s ‘beautiful reality’

By coincidence, I happened to sit with her and novelist Nicholas Sparks in the bar of the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills in 2012, just before the original Magic Mike was due for release.

All these men still have the power because they are autonomous. “[He said], ‘Hey, that’s you on that billboard.’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’ And he goes, ‘But they’re not all you.’ Like, you ain’t that cool”.

“The first one was kind of tethered to reality and this real world of male strippers isn’t all that interesting”.

“Seeing the mini-mart scene with Joe, seeing the culmination of all those years just come to fruition in that moment, to me, was so mind-blowing and epic”, says Bomer, 37. “The danger”, screenwriter Carolin says, “is because the first movie was this runaway success that none of us expected it to be”. Rather than quit the routine, the actor kept going until he was finished for the day.

“We thought it was a dislocated bone in my arm, and Channing (Tatum) was there”. The spirit just moved me and somehow the shirt ended up off. I said, ‘I’m not gonna make it tomorrow. “We gotta do it now”.

“Nah, I don’t know whether there’s going to be a third one, to be honest”, Tatum adds. “Mad respect. Y’all are definitely the stronger sex, for sure”. Just pop it back in. I do not know what they are made of outside of dreams and rainbows and amazingness but it truly does not matter. “It’s not me. And you do not want to see me do a strip show right now”.
