Pro-Cowboys banner funded by Greg Hardy buzzes Eagles practice
But neither he, nor the Eagles will battle with the Hardy when the Birds host the Boys on September 20.
A banner supporting the Dallas Cowboys flew over Eagles practice during the national anthem on military appreciation day Sunday.
Details surrounding the pilot’s identity are still under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration’s Pacific Division, but the aircraft in question was not the plane funded by Eagles fans to fly over Cowboys’ compound in Oxnard, Calif., during practice – as was reported initially. But now it’s turned tragic as, according to reports, a plane that was hired to fly a banner over Dallas Cowboys camp has crashed, with the pilot killed. The 26-year-old defensive end is new to the Cowboys-Eagles rivalry after playing his first five seasons for Carolina.
According to NBC10 in Philadelphia, the fan at the forefront of the plans to fly a banner over Cowboys practice was Eric Emanuele, who is an Eagles season ticket holder. “I think he’s a hothead and gets carried away with himself. He’s going to have his hands full with [Jason Peters], I promise you that”. Johnson is referring to Pro Bowler Jason Peters of the Eagles who wears the jersey number mentioned.
“Oh, yeah, that was interesting”, Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin said.
August 9, 2015You guys should hear from me. “We’re not concerned about them, but it seems like they’re concerned about us”.
Blasting the banner sent by the Cowboys, the Eagles felt that the stunt was unnecessary. There won’t be a chance to react to Hardy’s prank, however.
The Eagles and Cowboys are slotted to play in week two, which means Hardy will still be sidelined with his suspension. But in July, an arbitrator reduced it to four games, according to NFL.com. However, he should be active on November 8 when the squads get together at AT&T Stadium for Sunday Night Football.
