GBBO Drama! Great British Bake-Off Contestant Has Had ‘Professional Training’
This week’s challenge was to make boxes out of biscuits and while some people rose admirably to the challenge, others did not.
But on Wednesday, it was all nice and civilised as Stuart Henshall become the first of the 12 contestants to be booted off after his Madeira sponge, walnut cake and Black Forest gateau simply did not do it for judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
Mary comforted him, saying: “You had such great plans and a huge sadness that you just didn’t have time to put it all together”. Some grannies want to bungee jump, but for me it was always to get on Bake Off.
When it came to the final verdict, Sue had to admit to Paul that the reason Nadiya’s box wasn’t ideal was all down to her. The shame.
It has been revealed that one of the contestants has had professional training in Paris. An embarrassed Mel admitted: “I just wrecked it. I literally can’t believe I did that and I’m mortified”.
Speaking to the Evening Post before the first round, Mr Jagger said: “My colleagues were quite shocked, some thought I had Photoshopped my photo onto pictures of a baker”. She has not worked professionally as a baker or chef’.
“I live in a small village and I am only now getting used to being recognised”.
However, they praised the taste, with Paul adding: “it is a great bake”.
Marie, who was nominated to go on the show by her daughter, said: “My best moment was being Star Baker in Episode 1 and of course meeting Mary and Paul”.
We all know Bake Off is won and lost on the signatures and showstoppers.
Marie was only able to present four of the eight required arlettes, and ultimately was eliminated from the competition.
But it was a good weekend for Ian Cumming, who was named Star Baker after impressing the judges with his showstopper macaroons and the aluminium contraption he made to bake a flawless shortbread cylinder.
Broome, who runs the personalised gift firm with her husband and a team of seven, said the sales uplift from the show lasts until Christmas.
