Trump has said he is no longer appearing in the television show “The Apprentice”.
He went on to say: “As far as ending the relationship, I have to do that because my view on immigration is much different than the people at NBC“.
“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values”, disclosed the studio in an official statement to Us Weekly.
Trump said he anticipated losing the business relationship and that he’s not apologizing for his statements because they “were correct”. Trump had portrayed some immigrants from Mexico as bringing drugs and crime to the country in his presidential kickoff speech.
“Please be advised that under no circumstances is any officer or representative of Univision allowed to use Trump National Doral, Miami – its golf courses or any of its facilities”, Trump wrote in his letter to Falco, according to ABC News.
The remark has sparked an instant controversy after which Miss U.S. co-hosts, Latin beauty Roselyn Sanchez and Chilean actor Cristian de la Fuente along with one of the judges, Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico, pulled themselves out of the show, citing their strong disapproval towards Trump’s harsh words.
This is the third company to cut ties with Trump, who is seeking the Republican nomination for the November 2016 presidential election. Trump later said that his remarks were directed at USA policymakers, not the Mexican government or its people. “In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he won’t be participating in The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC“.
On Friday NBC announced it had fired Donald Trump from the network as he will no longer be featured in the ‘The Apprentice’ franchise.
A MoveOn.org petition to get Macy’s to drop Trump, the chain’s merchandising partner and sometime spokesman, has now gathered about 700,000 signatures.
Trump’s attorney was not immediately available for comment.
Starting this year, the network will stop showing Miss United States of America and Miss Universe on its channel.
What this means is that Trump will not be doing The Apprentice anymore, which he hosted for many successful seasons.
“Whatever they want to do is OK with me”, he said after a campaign speech before the City Club of Chicago, comprised of civic and community leaders. However, inform them that should I become President, those days are over.
